How to Remove Hairspray From Wigs

With modern advances in wig-making, it is nearly impossible these days to tell when someone is wearing a wig or not. In order to preserve your wig and keep it looking natural, special care must be taken when grooming, styling and cleaning your wig. You should never use regular hairspray on your wig but a wig spray specifically designed for hair.
Brush out the wig, working your way up from the ends to the root-shaft to disentangle any strands that may be stuck together as a result of using hairspray. If your wig is curly, you will need to use a wide toothed comb or pick; otherwise, you risk causing the wig to frizz.
Fill the sink with warm water, adding a cupful of shampoo to the water while it is running so it disperses evenly through the water.
Immerse the wig fully in the warm water and allow it to soak for at least five minutes.
Swish the wig gently around in the warm, soapy water.
Rinse clean under hot water until all shampoo and sudsy residue are cleaned from the hair.
Lay the wig out on a towel and blot it dry before hanging it on your wig stand and allowing it to dry overnight.
